Hello! I'm Alex. In the Autumn of 2025, my role in Publishing was made redundant after 18 years in the industry. Instead of seeing it as an ending, I took it as a rare chance to pause, breathe, and choose a new direction. I took the decision to enrol onto an intensive career course in floristry, which I completed at the Cambridge Floristry School in early 2026.

The Flower Barrow has grown from a newfound love of working with natural materials - the colours, the textures, the quiet concentration of turning simple stems into something that makes people smile. Even if the early mornings and working in cooler temperatures have been a bit of a shock to the system!

Setting up The Flower Barrow has allowed me to use a different part of my brain, one that thrives on craft, intuition, and the satisfaction of making something beautiful.

I’m excited to bring thoughtful, seasonal arrangements, and the joy of flowers, to my local community.
